ANA’s A380 will remain grounded until September 1st

Last month we reported that ANA’s A380s would take to the air on August 1st. Unfortunately, those plans have now been pushed back by at least a month. Today, Hawaii’s Governor announced that the state would delay plans to lift its mandatory 14-This COVID testing plan was scheduled to begin on August 1st, but will now start on September 1st, barring any other delays.

ANA’s A380s fly the popular Tokyo to Honolulu (HNL) route, and with the quarantine still in effect, ANA has decided to cancel its flights between Tokyo and HNL until September 1st. On that day, three ANA flights will depart for HNL:

  • NH182 and NH184 will operate on the NRT to HNL route and will be serviced by A380s
  • NH186 will fly between HND and HNL and will be serviced by a 787

There is some good news…ANA is still offering excellent first class deals between NRT and HNL. Round trip tickets can be purchased for as low as $3,470 for flights departing as soon as September 20, 2020.
