Hawaiian Airlines has halted most domestic and international flights because of the State of Hawaii’s mandatory 14-day quarantine for all incoming visitors. However, the State plans to waive the quarantine for visitors with a negative COVID test starting on September 1st, and Hawaiian has some generous fares to celebrate the reopening of the islands.
Starting in mid-September, you can book a roundtrip flight in business from Tokyo (HND) to New York (JFK) for $2,456 with a connection in Honolulu, Hawaii (HNL). These flights are operated by Hawaiian’s A330s which feature lie-flat seats in a 2 – 2 – 2 configuration. Hawaiian’s business class doesn’t offer direct aisle access for all seats, but it’s a decent seat, particularly if you’re traveling as a couple.
You can also add a stopover in Hawaii to this itinerary for less than $100. The example itinerary below gives you five days in Hawaii before the HNL to JFK leg, with an added cost of about $94.
Of course, it’s not the best time to travel right now, but these fares are available until May 2021.
