Garuda Indonesia, the flagship carrier of Indonesia, has a reputation for being one of the world’s best airlines. Garuda is one of ten airlines to be awarded a five-star rating by SkyTrax, and the airline has won several SkyTrax awards for “Best Cabin Crew” over the past few years.
Garuda’s first class was, for a time, regarded as one of the world’s best products as well. However, the airline has more recently scaled back on its first class service. Today, the airline has only a single aircraft, a Boeing 777-300ER, with a first class cabin. This aircraft flies Garuda’s Tokyo to Bali route.
For a limited time, you will be able to fly roundtrip first class on Garuda between Bali and Tokyo for a relatively low $2,000. This fare is available from September 2020 until the end of the year. In 2021, the price for this route will increase to over $4,000. You can stretch the stopover in Tokyo to about six months, so you can turn this flight into two trips over the year.
This isn’t a bad deal for about 14 hours in Garuda’s first class cabin. It also looks like Garuda may not operate a first class cabin for much longer, so this is a great way to experience this product before it’s gone.
