Budapest to Southeast Asia roundtrip in first class for ~$3k on Lufthansa or Swiss

We’ve seen a number of first class deals between Europe and Asia. Yesterday we reported on a great fare for ANA first class, and today we found a number of deals to Southeast Asia.

To get this fare, you’ll have to originate in Budapest, Hungary (BUD). Your first leg will be to either Zurich, Switzerland (ZUR) or Frankfurt, Germany (FRA) in narrowbody business class – nothing special. But your next leg will be in first class on either Lufthansa or Swiss. Some options include:

  • Bangkok on Swiss for $3,181
  • Ko Samui on Swiss or $3,303
  • Phuket on Lufthansa for $3,238
  • Singapore on Lufthansa for $3,321
  • Hong Kong is also an option on Swiss for $3,403

Ko Samui and Phuket connect through Bangkok and have a final leg on Bangkok Airways in economy. Not a great final leg, but it’s only a 1.5-hour flight. The Singapore itinerary also connects through Bangkok, and the final leg is on Thai’s A350 business class.

Both Lufthansa and Swiss offer great first class experiences. These airlines offer particularly impressive experiences on the ground, including black car shuttles from the aircraft, and large first class lounges. In the air, you’ll be treated with excellent food and top-shelf liquor.

You’ll find these itineraries available from September 2020 through July 2021. There’s no maximum stopover, so you can turn this into two trips over the course of a year. You can book directly through Lufthansa or Swiss, or with OTAs like Orbitz and Priceline.
